Names on walls

From 1941 to 1944, the Cité de la Muette in Drancy was the main internment and transit camp for Jews arrested in France. “Names on Walls” is an exhibition of graffiti found when the housing project’s door and window frames were replaced in 2009. Scrawled in pencil or carved into the walls of the underground prison cells or upper floor dormitories, most were written by Jewish internees before their deportation.
