For the Hors Limites litterary festival, The Shoah Memorial in Drancy is organising a talk with France-based Rwandan writer Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse, on Sunday 29 March at 4pm.

Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse was born in Butare, Rwanda, in 1979. She arrived in France in 1994, after surviving the Tutsi genocide.

Tous tes enfants dispersés, her first novel, is the story of Blanche, a survivor of the Tutsi genocide who lives in Bordeaux. She has built a life in France with her husband and son, but after years of exile, when she goes home to visit her mother Immaculata, painful memories resurface.
